• 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. Look for obstructions around the door seal or racks that may prevent full closure.
• 2. Inspect latch alignment: Examine the metal latch on the cabinet and the plastic catch on the door. If the door needs to be pushed hard to engage, adjust the latch position slightly (usually by loosening its screws and moving it).
• 3. Listen for the click: When closing the door slowly, you should hear a distinct click from the door lock switch. If not, the lock may be faulty.
• 4. Access door lock: Remove the inner door panel screws and carefully separate the inner and outer door skins. Locate the door lock assembly at the top. Check for broken plastic parts and ensure the wiring connector is secure.
• 5. Replace if necessary: If the microswitch does not actuate or shows signs of burning, the entire door lock assembly should be replaced.
