How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the water tap and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
- 1. Stop the water: Turn off the supply tap feeding the dishwasher. Mop up any spilled water.
- 2. Observe behavior: With the tap closed, reconnect power and start a program. If E16 appears without water entering, the control may be at fault. If water flows as soon as you open the tap (even with power off), the valve is mechanically stuck open.
- 3. Inspect inlet valve: Remove the side panel and locate the inlet valve/AquaStop. Check for visible damage or debris at the inlet screen.
- 4. Replace valve if stuck: A valve that allows water through when unpowered must be replaced; it cannot be reliably repaired.
When to call a technician: Overfilling can damage flooring and cabinetry. Have a professional replace the valve and verify control board operation.
