Possible Causes

Water supply valve closed, Kinked or pinched inlet hose, Clogged inlet screen at water valve, Faulty Cove water inlet valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker and close the water supply valve before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Verify water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve under the sink (feeding the dishwasher) is fully open. Ensure other fixtures have normal water pressure.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly if accessible and check that the stainless or braided inlet hose is not kinked or crushed behind the unit.
  • Clean inlet screen: Shut off water, disconnect the inlet hose at the dishwasher end, and inspect the small screen on the Cove inlet valve. Rinse debris from the screen under running water; do not puncture it.
  • Restore and test: Reconnect the hose securely, open the water valve, restore power, and run a quick cycle to see if F1 clears.
  • When to call for service: If water supply is good and the error returns, the water inlet valve coil or flow sensing circuit may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
