Possible Causes
Leaking door gasket, Loose hose clamp inside base, Cracked sump or tub, Activated float switch in base pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Immediately turn off power at the breaker and close the water supply valve. Do not continue running the dishwasher if a leak is suspected.
- Inspect around unit: Look for water on the floor around the dishwasher and under the front edge.
- Check door seal: Open the door and inspect the door gasket for tears, gaps, or debris. Clean the gasket and mating surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Dry the base (if accessible): If you can safely remove the toe-kick panel without exposing live wiring, you may see water in the base pan. Use towels or a sponge to remove standing water. Do not reach near wiring or components.
- Allow to dry: Leave the dishwasher powered off for 24 hours to allow any residual moisture to evaporate, then restore power and test for leaks with a short cycle while observing closely.
- When to call for service: If F8 returns or you see active leaking, an internal hose, pump seal, or tub component must be repaired or replaced by a professional.
