Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash; spray arms do not move and dishes remain dirty.

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the breaker before accessing the base.

• Confirm fill: Start a cycle and listen for the fill. After filling, if you hear only a hum or nothing at all, suspect the circulation pump.
• Inspect filters and sump: Remove and clean filters and check for debris that may have reached the pump.
• Access wash motor: Remove the lower panel and tilt or pull the unit out. Locate the circulation pump attached to the sump.
• Check impeller: Remove the pump and inspect the impeller for obstructions. Clear debris and ensure it spins freely.
• Test motor and capacitor: Measure motor winding resistance and test the capacitor. Replace the pump assembly if the motor is open or seized.
