• Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the latch and switch assembly. With power disconnected, test the switch for continuity while operating the latch. Replace the latch/switch assembly if it does not change state reliably.
• Inspect for physical damage: Look for cracked plastic on the latch or broken springs. Replace the entire door latch assembly if damaged.
