Possible Causes
Restricted house water supply to dishwasher, Failed or stuck Dacor water inlet valve, Clogged inlet screen at water valve, Faulty flow meter or pressure sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the dishwasher at the breaker and close the water supply valve before working on the unit.
- Check household water supply: Verify the shutoff valve under the sink feeding the Dacor dishwasher is fully open. Ensure there are no kinks in the stainless or plastic supply line.
- Inspect inlet hose and screen: Shut off water, disconnect the inlet hose at the dishwasher. Check the small metal or plastic screen in the Dacor water inlet valve for debris (sand, scale). Clean gently with a soft brush and reinstall.
- Confirm water pressure: Low water pressure can trigger E1. Run a nearby faucet; if flow is weak, address plumbing issues before further dishwasher diagnosis.
- Test the water inlet valve: With power off, access the bottom front of the dishwasher. Locate the Dacor water inlet valve. Check for obvious cracks or leaks. If you have a multimeter and are qualified, test coil resistance against Dacor specs. Replace the valve if open, shorted, or mechanically stuck.
- Reset and test: Restore power and water, then run a short cycle. If E1 returns after confirming supply and valve, the issue may be with the control board or flow sensor and may require a professional technician.
