Possible Causes
Mechanically stuck-open Dacor inlet valve, Debris lodged in valve seat, Control board energizing valve at wrong time, Faulty overfill protection circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the water supply valve and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
- Confirm valve behavior: With power off and water on, check if water still flows into the dishwasher. If so, the inlet valve is stuck open mechanically.
- Replace the inlet valve: Access the bottom front of the dishwasher, disconnect the water line and wiring, and remove the Dacor inlet valve. Install a new valve with the correct orientation and gasket.
- Inspect for debris: Check the supply line for sediment that could re-contaminate the new valve. Flush the line before reconnecting.
- Check control output (if valve closes with power off): If water only flows when power is on, the control board may be energizing the valve incorrectly. This requires electrical diagnosis and likely board replacement.
