Possible Causes
Drain pump running continuously, Siphoning due to improper drain hose installation, Faulty drain pump relay on control board, Stuck drain button or control logic error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting hoses or accessing the pump.
- Check drain hose installation: Ensure the Dacor dishwasher drain hose has a proper high loop or air gap above the sink trap to prevent siphoning.
- Inspect for continuous drain: If the pump runs constantly, even when the tub is empty, the control board or flood switch may be stuck. Verify that the base pan is dry and the leak float is not raised.
- Test the drain pump: Listen for abnormal noises. If the pump is noisy or hot, test its windings and replace if defective.
- Reset control: Turn off the breaker for several minutes, then restore power and run a test cycle. If E18 returns, further control board diagnosis is needed.
