Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Failed Dacor door latch switch assembly, Broken or worn door strike, Loose or damaged wiring harness at door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels.
- Check door closure: Make sure the dishwasher door closes firmly and evenly. Look for dishes or racks preventing full closure.
- Inspect the door strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the tub frame. If bent or loose, adjust or tighten the mounting screws so it lines up with the latch.
- Examine the latch assembly: Remove the inner door panel screws to access the Dacor door latch. Check for broken plastic, weak springs, or signs of overheating. Ensure the wiring connector is fully seated.
- Test the door switch: If you are comfortable using a multimeter, test continuity of the door switch with the latch engaged. Replace the latch assembly if the switch does not close properly.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the inner door panel, restore power, and run a test cycle. If E2 persists, the main control board may not be reading the door signal correctly and may need professional diagnosis.
