Possible Causes
Failed Dacor circulation pump motor, Blocked pump impeller, Seized motor bearings, Faulty motor capacitor (if used)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the dishwasher to cool before working underneath.
- Listen for motor operation: Start a cycle and listen. A loud hum with no water movement, or silence when the wash should run, points to a circulation pump issue.
- Check water level and filters: Ensure the dishwasher is filling to the correct level and that the Dacor filter and sump are clean. A starved pump can trigger E7.
- Inspect the circulation pump: Access the bottom of the unit and locate the main wash pump. Check for leaks or signs of overheating. Remove the pump housing to inspect the impeller for broken blades or obstructions.
- Test the motor: With power off and wires disconnected, measure motor winding resistance and compare to Dacor specifications. If open, shorted, or seized mechanically, replace the circulation pump assembly.
- Check capacitor (if equipped): Some models use a start capacitor. Inspect for bulging or leakage and replace if defective.
