Possible Causes
Failed Dacor drying fan motor, Blocked vent duct, Faulty vent flap or actuator, Wiring issue between fan and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the inner door panel or top cover.
- Confirm symptom: At the end of the cycle, check if the drying fan runs (you may hear a soft whirring). If E8 is displayed and dishes remain very wet, suspect the fan or vent.
- Inspect the vent outlet: On the inner door or top edge, locate the vent. Check for blockages from labels, plastic, or mineral deposits. Clean with a damp cloth.
- Access the fan assembly: Remove the inner door panel to reach the Dacor drying fan. Check for broken blades, seized motor, or water intrusion.
- Test the fan motor: With a multimeter, check for proper resistance across the fan motor leads. If open or shorted, replace the fan assembly.
- Check wiring and connectors: Ensure the harness from the control board to the fan is intact and firmly connected. Repair any damaged wires.
