Possible Causes

Failed NTC temperature sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Control board misreading sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the dishwasher to cool completely before accessing the sump or heater area.

  • Locate the NTC sensor: On many Dacor dishwashers, the NTC is mounted in the sump or on the side of the tub near the heater. Refer to your model's layout if needed.
  • Inspect the sensor and wiring: Check for cracks in the sensor body, signs of water intrusion, or corrosion at the connector. Ensure the harness is not pinched or damaged.
  • Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Dacor specifications. A reading far out of range or infinite indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace the NTC if faulty: Remove the retaining clip or screw, pull out the sensor, and install the new Dacor temperature sensor with the proper seal to prevent leaks.
  • Check control board if sensor is good: If the sensor tests correctly but E9 persists, the main control board may be misinterpreting the signal and should be evaluated or replaced by a professional.
