Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash; spray arms do not move and you hear only a humming sound.

Safety first: Turn off power and allow water to cool before working inside the tub.

• Check for obstructions: Remove lower rack, spray arm, and filters. Inspect the sump for broken glass, bones, or other debris.
• Listen to motor: During a wash attempt, a loud hum without water movement indicates a stalled motor.
• Access pump: Pull the dishwasher out and access the bottom. Inspect the circulation pump for obstructions and attempt to rotate the impeller by hand (power off).
• Replace pump: If the impeller is seized or the motor windings test open, replace the circulation pump assembly.
