Possible Causes

Leaking door gasket, Cracked sump or tub, Loose hose clamp, Faulty inlet valve or pump seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.

  • Check for visible leaks: Open the door and inspect around the door gasket and bottom of the door for water trails.
  • Remove toe-kick panel: Look into the base pan for standing water. If present, carefully soak it up with towels or a sponge.
  • Reset float switch: Many Danby models use a float in the base pan. Once water is removed, gently lower the float if it is stuck in the up position.
  • Run a short test: With the unit pulled slightly out, run a short cycle and watch for drips from hoses, pump, or sump.
  • Repair leak source: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, or install a new door gasket or sump seal as needed.
  • If leak source is not obvious: It may be a hairline crack in the tub or sump; consider professional inspection.
