Dishwasher displays E8; cycle may end prematurely and dishes are not clean.

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

• Locate turbidity sensor: On some Danby models, the sensor is mounted in the sump area or side wall of the tub.
• Clean sensor window: Remove the sensor (if accessible) and gently clean the lens with a soft cloth and warm soapy water to remove film or scale.
• Inspect wiring: Check the connector and harness for damage or loose pins.
• Reinstall and test: Refit the sensor, restore power, and run a normal cycle to see if the error clears.
• If E8 persists: Replace the turbidity / soil sensor. If the new sensor does not resolve the issue, the control board may require replacement.
