Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken door strike, Wiring fault to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the door mechanism.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and is not obstructed by tall dishes or cutlery. Try pressing the door inward while starting a cycle; if it starts, the latch is misaligned.
- Inspect latch and strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the tub and the latch in the door. Look for cracks, wear, or bending.
- Adjust or replace: Slightly loosen the screws holding the strike and adjust its position so the latch engages fully. If the latch or strike is damaged, replace the door lock assembly with the correct De Dietrich part.
- Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the door switch. Check continuity with a multimeter while operating the latch. No continuity indicates a faulty switch.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the door panel, restore power, and start a program to confirm that E11 is cleared and the door locks securely.
