Possible Causes
Defective Aquastop inlet valve, Debris preventing valve from closing, Control board stuck in fill command, Incorrect wiring causing valve to be energized
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the water tap and unplug the dishwasher to prevent flooding.
- Observe behavior: If water continues to enter with power off, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open.
- Inspect inlet valve: Remove the inlet hose and Aquastop assembly. Check for debris inside the valve and clean if accessible.
- Replace valve: If the valve continues to leak when the tap is open and power is off, replace the Aquastop inlet hose assembly with a compatible De Dietrich part.
- Check control board (if only fills when powered): If filling only occurs with power on and E16 appears, the control board may be energizing the valve incorrectly. Inspect for stuck relays and consider professional board repair.
