Dishwasher shows E20; general motor or pump error

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and lay the dishwasher on its back carefully to access the base.

• Inspect circulation pump: Check for signs of overheating or burning on the pump body and connectors.
• Test motor windings: Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across the motor terminals. Compare with service specifications; open or very low resistance indicates a fault.
• Check capacitor (if present): Some pumps use a start capacitor. Inspect for bulging or leakage and replace if suspect.
• Examine control board: Look for burnt components near the motor triac. If damaged, the board may need replacement.
• Replace faulty parts: Install a new circulation pump or capacitor as required, reassemble, and run a test cycle to confirm E20 is resolved.
