Possible Causes

Dirty turbidity sensor window, Faulty turbidity sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and control board, Excessive foam interfering with sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before removing panels.

  • Check detergent use: Ensure you are using dishwasher-specific detergent and not regular dish soap. Excess foam can cause sensor errors; run a rinse cycle without detergent to clear foam.
  • Locate the turbidity sensor: On many De Dietrich models, the turbidity sensor is mounted on the side of the sump or in the side water matrix. Remove the side panel to access it.
  • Clean the sensor: Remove the sensor and gently clean the optical window with warm water and a soft cloth to remove grease and film. Do not scratch the lens.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the connector for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the plug firmly.
  • Test and replace if needed: If E7 persists after cleaning, the sensor may be defective and should be replaced with the correct De Dietrich turbidity sensor part.
