Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken latch hook, Wiring fault to door interlock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. If you must push hard to start, the latch may be misaligned.
- Inspect latch and strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the cabinet and the latch mechanism in the door. Look for cracks, wear, or looseness.
- Adjust or tighten: Tighten mounting screws on the latch and strike. Slightly adjust the strike position if the door is not engaging fully.
- Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the door switch assembly. Check continuity across the switch terminals when the latch is engaged. Replace the door lock assembly if the switch is intermittent or open.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the control board for broken conductors, especially where it passes through the door hinge area.
