Possible Causes

Circulation pump impeller blocked by debris, Worn or seized circulation motor, Blocked spray arms causing overload, Faulty run capacitor on circulation motor (if fitted)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and ensure there is no standing hot water before working inside the tub.

  • Check spray arms: Remove upper and lower spray arms. Rinse under running water and clear any blocked jets with a toothpick. Ensure the arms spin freely when reinstalled.
  • Listen for pump: During a wash cycle, listen for the strong humming/whirring sound of the Fagor circulation pump. A faint hum with no water movement suggests a jammed impeller.
  • Inspect sump: Remove filters and inspect the sump inlet to the circulation pump. Remove any glass, seeds, or plastic pieces.
  • Advanced access: Tilt the dishwasher back and remove the bottom panel to access the circulation pump. Check the impeller for damage or obstruction. If the motor shaft is stiff or noisy when turned by hand, replace the Fagor circulation pump assembly.
  • Capacitor check: If fitted, test the motor run capacitor with a capacitance meter; replace if out of tolerance.
