Possible Causes
Leak into base tray activating float switch, Loose hose or clamp on circulation or drain system, Cracked sump or tub, Faulty anti-flood float switch stuck in raised position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap immediately to prevent further flooding.
- Check for leaks: Pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. Tilt it slightly backward and look underneath for water in the base tray.
- Dry the base: If water is present, carefully soak it up with towels or use a wet/dry vacuum. Allow the base and float switch area to dry completely.
- Inspect hoses: Examine the inlet hose, circulation pump hoses, drain hose, and clamps for signs of drips or mineral tracks. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Check sump and seals: Inspect the Fagor sump gasket, door gasket, and heater seals for cracks or deformation.
- Float switch: Verify that the anti-flood float moves freely and that its microswitch is not stuck. Replace the Fagor anti-flood float switch if defective.
- Test run: After repairs and drying, run a short cycle while observing for leaks. If F8 reappears without visible leaks, seek professional service.
