Possible Causes
Dirty filters and sump, Standing water in drain hose, Low-temperature cycles only, Food residues trapped in door seal and corners
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear gloves when cleaning internal parts with chemicals.
- 1. Deep clean filters: Remove all filters and soak them in hot soapy water. Scrub away grease and trapped food.
- 2. Clean sump and spray arms: Wipe the sump area with a cloth and mild cleaner. Remove and clean spray arms thoroughly.
- 3. Door seal and edges: Wipe the door gasket and the area around the door edges where food particles can accumulate.
- 4. Run cleaning cycle: Run an empty hot program with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar placed upright on the top rack (no dishes).
- 5. Use hotter cycles: Periodically run an intensive program to reduce biofilm buildup.
- 6. Check drain hose routing: Ensure the hose has a high loop to prevent dirty sink water from backflowing into the dishwasher.
