Possible Causes
Faulty door switch not detecting closed door, Defective Start button on control panel, Child lock function enabled, Loose wiring between UI and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel or control fascia.
- 1. Check indicators: Look for a child lock symbol on the display. If present, disable the lock according to the user manual (often by holding a specific button combination).
- 2. Confirm door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear a positive click. If you must lift or push the door sideways, the latch may be misaligned.
- 3. Test buttons: Try other buttons on the control panel. If none respond, the UI board or ribbon cable may be faulty.
- 4. Access UI connections: With power off, remove the inner door panel and inspect the ribbon cable and connectors between the display board and main PCB. Reseat them carefully.
- 5. Replacement: If the Start button is physically damaged or the UI board shows signs of moisture damage, replace the control panel assembly.
- 6. Technician help: If wiring and latch are good but the machine still will not start, the main control board may require professional diagnosis.
