Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Stuck or faulty float switch in base, Overfilling due to defective inlet valve, Blocked pressure chamber or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply tap immediately to prevent further flooding.
- 1. Check for visible leaks: Look around the sides and under the door for water. If you see water on the floor, mop it up and do not continue using the dishwasher until the leak source is found.
- 2. Empty base tray: Carefully pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. Tilt it gently backward about 30–45 degrees over a towel to allow water in the base tray to drain out. This may temporarily clear E4.
- 3. Inspect float switch: With the base panel removed, locate the polystyrene or plastic float and micro-switch assembly. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by grease or debris. Clean if necessary.
- 4. Look for leak sources: Check the door gasket, sump seal, circulation pump, heater housing, and inlet valve connections for signs of drips or mineral tracks.
- 5. Test after drying: Once the base is completely dry and any obvious leaks are corrected (tighten hose clamps, reseat seals), restore power and run a short cycle while observing for leaks.
- 6. Call a technician: If the leak source is not obvious, or if the tub, sump, or pump housing is cracked, professional repair or replacement is required.
