Possible Causes

Stuck water inlet valve, Blocked pressure chamber or pressure hose, Faulty pressure switch or water level sensor, Control board not shutting off fill

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close the water supply tap immediately if you suspect overfilling.

  • 1. Observe fill behavior: Start a cycle and watch the initial fill. If water continues to enter even when the machine is already full, the inlet valve may be stuck open.
  • 2. Inspect pressure system: Access the side panel (if removable) to locate the pressure chamber and thin pressure hose leading to the pressure switch or sensor. Remove the hose and blow through it to clear any blockage. Rinse the chamber with hot water to remove grease and detergent buildup.
  • 3. Check inlet valve: With power disconnected, inspect the inlet valve for debris at the inlet screen. If water continues to flow into the tub when the machine is unplugged and the tap is open, the valve is mechanically stuck and must be replaced.
  • 4. Examine wiring: Ensure the pressure switch connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged.
  • 5. Test cycle: After cleaning and reassembly, run a short program and monitor the water level. If E5 reappears, the pressure switch or control board may be faulty.
  • 6. Professional help: Replacement of the pressure switch or main PCB should be done by a qualified technician.
