Possible Causes
Debris in circulation or drain pump, Worn pump bearings, Spray arm hitting dishes, Loose mounting brackets or panels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before internal inspection.
- Check loading: Ensure spray arms can rotate freely without hitting tall items or utensils.
- Inspect spray arms: Remove and check for cracks or loose end caps. Replace if damaged.
- Clean sump and pumps: Remove filters and inspect the sump for foreign objects (glass, bones, etc.) that could contact the pump impeller. Remove any debris.
- Check mounting: Verify that the dishwasher is level and that side and top mounting brackets are secure to prevent vibration.
If noise persists and seems to come from the motor area, the circulation pump or drain pump bearings may be worn and the pump should be replaced.
