Possible Causes
Obstruction in wash pump area, Failed wash motor rotor, Seized wash pump bearings, Wiring fault to wash motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water before servicing.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the dish racks and spray arm. Inspect the filter plate and area around the wash pump rotor for broken glass, bones, or debris. Remove any foreign objects.
- Clean the filter plate: Lift out the filter plate (if accessible on your model) and rinse under running water. Ensure the fine mesh is not clogged.
- Inspect the rotor: On many Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer models, the motor rotor can be accessed from inside the tub by removing the cover over the pump area. Check that the rotor spins freely by hand. If it is stiff, seized, or damaged, it should be replaced.
- Check wiring connections: If you can safely access the underside, inspect the wiring harness to the wash motor for loose or damaged connectors.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the filter plate and spray arm, restore power and water, and run a test cycle.
If the F2 error persists after clearing obstructions, the wash motor rotor or complete wash pump assembly is likely faulty and may require replacement.
