Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad button, Moisture in control panel, Damaged user interface board, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the door panel.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power to see if the error clears.
- Dry the control panel: If steam or moisture is visible around the display, gently dry the area with a soft cloth. Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the panel; spray onto a cloth instead.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the inner door panel to access the user interface board. Check that the ribbon cable is fully seated at both ends and not damaged.
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button individually and feel for proper click. If any button feels stuck or unresponsive, the UI board may need replacement.
- When to call a technician: If the ER code persists after drying and reseating connections, replacement of the user interface assembly is recommended.
