Possible Causes
Restricted water supply to dishwasher, Clogged or kinked water inlet hose, Failed water inlet valve, Faulty water level pressure sensor or air trap blockage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off the dishwasher’s water supply before working on it.
- Check household water supply: Verify the shutoff valve (usually under the sink) feeding the dishwasher is fully open. Confirm other faucets have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and inspect the braided or plastic inlet hose for kinks, crushing, or sharp bends. Straighten or replace if damaged.
- Clean inlet screen: Turn off water, disconnect the hose from the dishwasher’s water inlet valve, and inspect the small metal screen inside the valve. Rinse debris under running water; do not puncture the screen.
- Check for low fill: Restore power and water, start a cycle, and listen for filling. After 2–3 minutes, open the door and check water level; it should cover the sump filter area. If very low, the inlet valve may be weak and should be replaced.
- Inspect pressure sensor/air trap (if accessible): On some Frigidaire Professional models, a small hose runs from the sump to a pressure sensor. Remove and clear any debris or grease buildup, then reattach securely.
- When to call a technician: If the valve is receiving 120 VAC during fill but water flow is still weak, or if the pressure sensor tests out of spec, replacement by a professional is recommended.
