Possible Causes
Clogged drain filter or sump, Blocked drain hose, Garbage disposal knockout not removed, Failed drain pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before working under the unit. Use towels to catch any water spills.
- 1. Remove standing water: Use a cup or sponge to bail out most of the water from the tub.
- 2. Clean filter and sump: Remove the bottom rack and filter assembly. Rinse and clear any debris from the sump area.
- 3. Check drain hose and disposal: Under the sink, ensure the hose is not kinked. If recently installed to a disposal, confirm the knockout plug was removed. Detach the hose and flush with hot water.
- 4. Test drain pump: Access the pump from below. Check for obstructions in the impeller. If the pump hums but does not pump, or is silent with power, replace the Frigidaire drain pump.
Persistent drainage issues may indicate a partial blockage in the house plumbing that should be cleared by a plumber.
