Possible Causes

Seized circulation pump, Foreign object in pump impeller, Shorted motor winding, Control board motor driver fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power and water before accessing the pump.

  • 1. Listen for abnormal sounds: If the motor hums loudly or buzzes without spraying, it may be jammed.
  • 2. Inspect sump and impeller: Remove the lower spray arm and filter. Check the sump inlet for glass, bones, or other debris. From underneath, remove the circulation pump and inspect the impeller for obstructions.
  • 3. Test motor: With power off, check motor resistance. A shorted or open winding indicates a bad motor.
  • 4. Replace circulation pump: Install a new Frigidaire circulation pump if the old one is seized or electrically faulty.

If CE persists with a new pump, the control board’s motor driver circuit may be defective and require replacement.
