Possible Causes
Stuck keypad button, Moisture in control panel, Failed user interface board, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before opening the door panel.
- 1. Inspect keypad for stuck buttons: Press each button individually to feel for sticking. Clean the panel surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent; do not flood with water.
- 2. Dry out moisture: If the panel has been exposed to steam or a spill, leave the door open and allow the control area to dry for several hours with power off.
- 3. Check ribbon cable: Remove the inner door panel and inspect the flat ribbon cable between the user interface and main control. Reseat both ends firmly.
- 4. Replace user interface board: If the ER code persists and specific buttons do not respond, replace the Frigidaire user interface/control panel assembly.
If replacing the UI does not resolve the error, the main control board may also need replacement.
