Possible Causes

Blocked pressure hose or air trap, Faulty pressure sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and main control board, Control board misreading sensor signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing internal components.

  • 1. Access pressure sensor: Remove the lower access panel. Locate the small pressure hose running from the sump or side of the tub to the pressure sensor module.
  • 2. Inspect and clean hose: Disconnect the hose at both ends. Blow through it to ensure it is clear. Rinse with warm water if greasy. Reinstall securely, avoiding kinks.
  • 3. Clean air trap: On models with a side-mounted air chamber, remove and flush the chamber to clear any food or grease buildup that could trap pressure.
  • 4. Check wiring: Inspect the harness connector at the pressure sensor and at the control board for corrosion, loose pins, or damage. Reseat connectors firmly.
  • 5. Replace pressure sensor if needed: If the hose and air trap are clear but the i40 code returns, replace the Frigidaire pressure sensor assembly.

If the new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a professional technician.
