Possible Causes

Failed circulation pump motor, Shorted wash motor winding, Faulty triac on main control board, Damaged wiring harness to wash motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker and shut off water. The circulation pump area may have sharp edges and hot components.

  • 1. Listen for motor operation: Start a cycle and listen. If the unit fills but you do not hear the typical spray noise, the circulation pump is likely not running.
  • 2. Inspect wiring: Remove the lower access panel and locate the circulation pump on the sump. Check the wiring harness for burns, loose connections, or damage.
  • 3. Check for obstructions: Remove the lower spray arm and filter. Inspect the sump inlet to the circulation pump for broken glass or debris that could jam the impeller.
  • 4. Test motor continuity (advanced): With power off, disconnect the motor leads and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a bad motor.
  • 5. Replace circulation pump: If the motor is seized or electrically open, replace the Frigidaire circulation pump assembly. Ensure all seals and clamps are properly seated to prevent leaks.

If a new pump does not restore operation, the main control board triac may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
