Possible Causes
Failed vent fan motor, Stuck or broken vent door, Faulty vent fan sensor or switch, Wiring issue between vent and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the inner door panel.
- 1. Access vent assembly: Open the door and remove the inner door screws to expose the vent assembly, typically located at the top of the door.
- 2. Inspect vent door: Check that the vent door is not jammed with debris or warped plastic. Manually move it if possible to ensure free movement.
- 3. Test vent fan motor: Inspect the wiring connector. With power off, measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- 4. Check for moisture damage: Look for signs of condensation or water intrusion around the vent that may have damaged the motor or sensor.
- 5. Replace vent assembly: If the motor or door mechanism is defective, replace the complete Frigidaire vent fan assembly for best reliability.
After replacement, clear the code by cycling power and running a test cycle.
