Possible Causes
Dirty filters and sump, Food residue in drain hose, Standing water in low spots, Infrequent high-temperature cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before deep cleaning internal components.
- Thoroughly clean filters: Remove all filters and soak them in hot soapy water. Scrub away grease and residue.
- Clean sump and door seals: Wipe the sump area, door gasket, and around the door edges with a cloth and a mild bleach solution or dishwasher cleaner.
- Run cleaning cycle: Run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar placed on the top rack (do not mix with bleach).
- Drain hose: If odor persists, remove the drain hose from the sink connection and flush it with hot water to remove trapped residue.
Regularly running hot cycles and keeping filters clean will prevent odors from returning.
