Possible Causes
Partially blocked inlet valve or Aquastop, Faulty pressure switch or level sensor, Clogged flow meter, Kinked or restricted inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply valve before servicing.
- Verify water level: Start a cycle and allow the unit to fill. Open the door after a few minutes (after pausing). The water should just cover the sump area. If it is very low, the machine is underfilling.
- Clean inlet components: Remove and clean the inlet hose mesh filter and check for kinks in the hose. Inspect the Aquastop device (if fitted) for signs of activation or blockage.
- Inspect pressure switch / level sensor: Access the side panel or base to locate the pressure switch and its small rubber hose. Ensure the hose is not blocked with grease or debris and is not cracked. Clean or replace as necessary.
- Flow meter check: If the dishwasher fills but quickly throws E5, the flow meter may not be sending correct pulses. Inspect the flow meter (often integrated with the water softener or side water matrix) and its wiring. Replace if defective.
If E5 recurs after these steps, the main control board or sensor calibration may require professional diagnosis.
