Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and turn off water supply before accessing internal components.
Troubleshooting:
- Check for standing water: Remove the lower rack and filters. If water is standing in the sump, manually bail it out and clean the sump area.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove coarse and fine filters and the metal mesh. Clean thoroughly under running water. Check for debris in the sump that could affect water level sensing.
- Access pressure chamber: On many Gaggenau models, the pressure chamber and air trap are located on the side of the tub or near the base. Remove the side panel and inspect for grease, scale, or food buildup.
- Clean air hose: Detach the small hose from the pressure sensor and blow through it to clear blockages. Rinse the pressure chamber with hot water if accessible.
- Test pressure sensor: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance or voltage output according to service specs. Replace if readings are out of range.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the connector to the pressure sensor is secure and free of corrosion.
Repair: If cleaning does not resolve E05, replace the pressure sensor or the complete pressure chamber assembly with the correct Gaggenau part.
