Possible Causes

Leak from sump seal, circulation pump, heater, hoses, or inlet system, triggered float switch in base tray, cracked tub or heat exchanger

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Critical safety: Disconnect power and close the water tap immediately. Do not continue to run the dishwasher with E15.

Steps:

  • Pull out the dishwasher: Carefully slide the unit out from under the counter, protecting the floor.
  • Tilt to drain base: Gently tilt the dishwasher about 30–45° backward to allow water in the base tray to drain out (have towels ready). This may temporarily clear E15 but does not fix the leak source.
  • Remove base panel: With the unit upright and power off, remove the base cover to inspect the leak area. Locate the float switch and check for water.
  • Identify leak source: Run a short fill test while observing (use caution with live power). Common leak points include the sump gasket, circulation pump seal, heater connections, side heat exchanger, and hoses.
  • Repair or replace leaking parts: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, renew sump seals, or replace leaking pumps/heat exchangers as needed using Gaggenau parts.
  • Dry base completely: Ensure the base tray and float switch area are fully dry before reassembly.

Note: If you cannot safely identify the leak, contact an authorized technician.
