Possible Causes
Defective AquaStop inlet valve, debris preventing valve closure, control board not closing valve, wiring short to inlet valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately close the water tap and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
Steps:
- Check if water stops with tap closed: If water continues to enter even with the tap closed, there may be backflow from plumbing; consult a plumber. If it stops, the inlet valve is likely stuck.
- Inspect inlet hose: Remove the AquaStop hose and check for debris at the valve screen. Clean carefully.
- Test valve operation: With the hose removed and power applied (only if qualified), verify that the valve opens and closes correctly when the dishwasher calls for water.
- Replace AquaStop / inlet valve: If the valve leaks when de-energized or does not close fully, replace the complete AquaStop hose or inlet valve assembly with the correct Gaggenau part.
- Check control and wiring: If the valve is mechanically sound but remains energized, inspect the wiring and control board for a stuck relay or short.
