Possible Causes
Kinked or clogged drain hose, blocked sink connection or air gap, debris in drain pump, incorrect drain hose installation height
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working on the drain system.
Steps:
- Check drain hose routing: Ensure the hose is not kinked behind the dishwasher and that it rises to the correct height (usually under the countertop) before connecting to the sink drain.
- Inspect sink connection: Remove the hose from the sink trap or garbage disposal and check for blockages. If recently installed, ensure the knockout plug in the disposal inlet was removed.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove filters and check for debris at the drain inlet.
- Check drain pump: Access the pump from the base and inspect for obstructions in the impeller housing.
- Run test cycle: After clearing blockages, run a short cycle to confirm proper draining and that E24 is cleared.
