Dishwasher has power but will not start cycle; lights respond but pressing Start does nothing or just beeps.

Safety: Turn off power before removing door panels.

• Confirm door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and latches firmly. Listen for a solid click.
• Check for control lock: Many GE dishwashers have a Control Lock feature. Look for a lock icon on the display. Press and hold the designated key (often Heated Dry or Lock) for 3–5 seconds to toggle it off.
• Reset the control: Turn the breaker off for 2 minutes, then back on and try again.
• Test door latch switch: Remove inner door panel and test the latch switch for continuity when latched. Replace the latch assembly if faulty.
• Inspect user interface: If some buttons do not respond or the Start key is intermittent, the UI board may need replacement.
