Possible Causes

Blocked spray arms, Clogged sump filter, Weak circulation pump, Debris in wash pump impeller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before disassembling spray arms or pump components.

  • Clean spray arms: Remove upper and lower spray arms (usually twist or unscrew). Rinse under hot water and clear each jet hole with a toothpick or small wire. Reinstall securely.
  • Clean filters and sump: Remove lower rack and filters. Rinse filters and inspect sump for debris. Remove any obstructions that could restrict water flow.
  • Check water level: Start a cycle and, after a few minutes, open the door. Water should cover the bottom filter area by about 1/4–1/2 inch. If low, see fill-related codes (C4).
  • Listen for circulation pump: During wash, you should hear a strong, steady spray sound. A low hum with little splashing indicates a weak or blocked wash pump. Access the circulation pump under the tub, remove it, and inspect the impeller for damage or obstructions.
  • Replace circulation pump if needed: If the impeller is worn or the motor windings test open/shorted, replace the wash/circulation pump assembly.
