Safety first: For door and control checks, power can remain on; disconnect power only if removing panels.

• Check for control lock: Look for a lock icon on the display. Press and hold the designated lock key (often 3 seconds) to disable child lock.
• Close door firmly: Push the door closed until you hear a solid click. Try starting the cycle again.
• Hold Start correctly: On many GE Café models, you must press and hold Start for 3 seconds. Follow the label on the control panel.
• Inspect latch: If the problem persists, inspect the door latch and strike for wear or misalignment. Replace the GE Café door latch assembly if needed.
