Dishwasher displays C3 and stops; unit may attempt to drain repeatedly and not start a wash cycle.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and shut off the water supply. Be cautious of sharp metal edges under the dishwasher.

• Remove toe-kick and inspect base pan: Take off the lower front panel. Use a flashlight to inspect the base pan for water. If water is present, sponge it out completely.
• Identify leak source: With the base pan dry, restore water (leave power off). Slightly pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. Look around the sump, circulation pump, drain pump, and hoses for mineral trails or wet spots that indicate a leak path.
• Check sump and door gasket: Inspect the sump-to-tub gasket for cracks or deformation. Check the door gasket all around for tears or flattening, especially at the bottom corners.
• Inspect hoses and clamps: Examine the drain hose, circulation pump hoses, and inlet hose for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten clamps and replace any hose that shows signs of leakage.
• Check for over-sudsing: If you see foam residue, confirm that only dishwasher detergent is being used (no dish soap or hand soap). Run a rinse cycle with no detergent to clear excess suds.
• Test for leaks: Restore power and run a short cycle while observing underneath with a flashlight. If water reappears in the base pan and C3 returns, replace the leaking component (sump gasket, pump, or hose) as identified.
