Possible Causes
Stuck float or float switch, Debris in sump around level sensor, Faulty water level sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the sump or base pan.
- Inspect float mechanism: Remove the lower rack and filters. Locate the float or level sensor area. Clean away food debris, grease, or scale that may restrict movement.
- Check base pan: Remove the toe-kick and inspect for water in the base pan. If present, dry completely and look for leaks (see C3).
- Test float switch / sensor: From underneath, locate the float switch or electronic level sensor. Test continuity while manually moving the float (for mechanical switches) or measure sensor resistance per GE specs.
- Repair or replace: Replace a faulty float switch or level sensor. Ensure wiring harness is intact and connectors are secure.
