Possible Causes
Clogged drain hose, Blocked air gap or disposal inlet, Obstructed sump or drain pump, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working under the unit or near wiring. Water may be dirty; wear gloves.
Steps:
- 1. Remove standing water: Use a cup or wet/dry vacuum to clear most of the water.
- 2. Clean filters and sump: Remove and rinse filters; inspect sump for debris.
- 3. Check sink/disposal connection: Ensure the garbage disposal knockout plug was removed and the inlet is not clogged.
- 4. Inspect drain hose: Verify it is not kinked or clogged. Disconnect at sink end and flush with water.
- 5. Test drain pump: Run a cancel/drain cycle and listen. If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent, replace the drain pump assembly.
