Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the inner door panel.
Steps:
- 1. Check loading: Make sure tall items (pans, utensils) are not blocking the dispenser door from opening fully.
- 2. Inspect dispenser door: Open and close the dispenser by hand. It should latch and release smoothly. Clean any detergent buildup around the hinge and latch.
- 3. Test during cycle: Start a cycle and listen for the dispenser release click. Open the door after 20–30 minutes to see if the detergent has been released.
- 4. Access dispenser assembly: With power OFF, remove the inner door panel screws to expose the dispenser. Check wiring connections and look for signs of burning or corrosion.
- 5. Replace dispenser if defective: If the solenoid or motor does not actuate when powered, or the latch is broken, replace the entire detergent/rinse aid dispenser assembly.
If C8 persists after replacing the dispenser and verifying loading, the main control board may not be sending the signal and should be evaluated by a technician.
